My head

Inside my head,
Working on overdrive,
Some thoughts are alive,
Some of them dead.

Inside my head,
Memories of things to come,
Some peaches and a plum,
Painted in crimson and red.

Inside my mind,
Hope you wouldn’t mind,
Plenty of things to find,
That’s if you’re kind.

Strata below strata,
Lay the hidden data,
Things both, good and bad,
Some happy, some sad.

There are also colors,
Maybe the orange is out of stock,
There are also odors,
But to unfold, you’ll have to knock.

There is a ray of sunshine,
From the backyard,
There is a hint of wine,
Left from the vineyard.

There are songs and hymns,
For the good times,
And for winter nights,
In paler shades of whites.

There are toys,
For good girls and boys,
And snapshot pictures,
From unknown ventures.

There are also road works,
So some areas are under locks,
Sometimes a power shut down,
But otherwise things are fine.

Here, you will have to do a detour,
I hope it will not spoil your tour,
Excavations in the left wing,
So, there might be a mood swing.

My head, about to burst,
As if I am damned or cursed,
It goes fast for my own body,
Too fast for anybody.

Somewhere is a short circuit,
And the crumble of a biscuit,
A color-it-yourself book,
Et un grand mechant look.*

Then again, once in a while,
You have floods and rain,
Sometimes I think it is in vain,
Then say it is worthwhile.

Some of the ideas inside,
Do not even belong to me,
I borrowed them as you see,
It is a fact I will not hide.

So Mister, I give you back,
What I took from you,
I am not lying, it is true,
I have plenty, and you are in lack.

I can even lend you,
A thought, or perhaps even two,
They are head-made,
And extremely well-laid.

Hope you enjoyed the trip,
Now you have to go back to your ship,
Sorry, it is closing time for my brain,
On the way back, have to catch the last train.
