Dreams in JPEG

Turtles are atheists,
And if you want to know why,
It is because their mothers hatched them,
kept them on the beach and left them to die.

Whereas we humans so fallible,
Because we were nurtured,
We became so gullible,
Always needing to be protected.

We duplicate the motherly tenderness,
And project it onto a higher being,
We seek to see in the wilderness,
A proof of him or her really being.

I now dream in JPEGs,
Trying to figure the story,
Trying to unearth the glory,
Of what preceded: Chicken or eggs?

Did the tree that fell in the forest,
When no living soul was around,
Make a noise, a pitch or a sound?
I cannot answer to be honest.

If God created man in his image,
Then why all the fuss and rummage?
Why the harassment and ethical carnage?
Why the torture and emotional damage?

You are just as much of God as he is,
I am as bit as holy as you,
We are all deities and almighties,
And eventually, on ira tous au paradis (1).

There shouldn’t be a reason to be afraid,
Your subscription to heaven is prepaid,
Well, with a little effort you’ll be there,
Even if you’ll have to play truth or dare.

I think you got the faulty idea of God,
I am not sure he carries a stick and a rod,
Seems you got it wrong for all the same,
In that case… hallowed be my name.

(1) We are all going to heaven
