Elle Trouva L’amour
“Elle Trouva L’Amour” (Inspired by a painting by Jamil Habbal).
Brush,
After brush,
Stroke,
After stroke.
Jamil’s paint-filled fingers,
Through her hair paint slowly lingers,
Leading her into the mysticism of creation,
Through the tedious journeys of devotion.
Blue, crimson, beige, or gray,
Slowly, the creature starts to make its way,
Coming from a subconscious destination,
Walking in roads of secret anticipation.
The adrenaline goes higher,
The brain can be such a good liar,
Hiding things and keeping them from you,
When it knows what’s false and what’s true.
An instrument of his unspoken desire,
Her unseen eyes sparkle with fire,
She rushes towards the dim light,
Leaving behind the dying night.
When he finally puts the canvas to rest,
The woman he just painted from behind,
Was out there looking and trying to find…
And… “Elle trouva l’amour”… and slept in its nest.
