Dying in the shadow of a greater man

All men are created equal, my ass.
And all men die equal, my ass.
Yes, some become the richest men in the graveyard,
And it counts.
It counts - no, not that you die - but rather who you die with.
Because then, most likely, you don’t count at all.
A car explosion somewhere in the world - these days that “somewhere” is
Irak,
A prominent political figure dies - with 12 “other people”.
They don’t count if they die, the only one who counts is the prominent politi-
cal figure.
They could have been any other 12, but the central character is irreplaceable.
Any other 12 extras on the set would have done, they didn’t follow any spe-
cific casting, nor were they approved by the director at the set.
They just happened to be 12 people, dying in the shadow of a greater man.
