The last time I left something for later,
Later never came around to pick it up,
By the time it was time to remember,
His time for coming was already up!

The future was supposed to be different,
The grass greener and the sun more ardent,
There’s still time to shape it as we go along,
As long as we persist, keep going strong.

Many wishes never materialized,
Many acts were ill-advised,
But one should take it as it happened,
As the past cannot be dampened.

It is easy to judge in hindsight,
When everything is under a different light,
No gray areas, all black on white,
If one can only take a rewind flight.

Then again, better lay it to rest,
Up in the attic, down the basement,
Like some over worn and forgotten vest,
Symbol of a defunct fashion statement.

There’s still time for the future to show up,
It may not be as we imagined it to be,
But it’s nothing to worry about, you see,
It will come, as long as we don’t give up!
