Exodus 2003
Velvet revolution
A velvet revolution in the streets of my soul,
Feelings marching with no aim and no goal,
They know not what they really want,
But their will nothing seems to daunt.
Perhaps they were influenced by Confucius,
Or they had a UN-monitored internal census,
Even though there was no general consensus,
Everyone pitched in this all-new nisus.
Leading me to some unexplored place,
Their own drummer dictates their pace,
With no choice I cannot but let them lead,
As if it was an obligation, a moral deed.
I know that some heads will topple,
Adam’s, Eve’s, and never mind the apple,
Making way to a new genesis,
For a new life, a different nemesis.
Statues will make way for moving figures,
Stagnant waters will now fully flow,
Tamed lights will reveal their hidden glow,
And Cold glances replaced by warm gestures.
Only the future will be able to tell,
If a heaven will follow this hell,
But at least I am breaking loose,
With everything to gain… And nothing to lose.
